Dollars
Dollars are the most common kind of currency found in The War Z. It will be used to purchase basic items. It cannot however, be used to buy advanced weapons or anything that gives the player huge advantage.

To find your current balance you must go to the marketplace and it will be displayed as a blue number on the right. There is only one global balance for a user's account. As of the current build this money can not be traded with other users.
A zombie in The War Z will usually drop around $25-$50, however, only zombies found in some towns and cities will drop this currency. Not every zombie in these places will drop this currency either, and on average, the drop rate is 1:3 zombies.
There is currently a possible rare occurrence that allows zombies to drop exactly 1000 Dollars or even 10000 Dollars.

Money is dropped when a player kills a zombie. If a player picks up a pile of money it is instantly added to the global balance and will not be dropped if the player dies.

- Whitestone Mountain (city)
- Parkerville
- Campos City (Near Parkerville side)
- Helicopter Crash Site

- Rifle Ridge
- Sleepy Crest
- Mt. Massive
- West Boulder Meteorological Station
- Patch Farm
- Glenwood Springs
- Hill Ranch

The other currency is Gold Coins and is acquired by exchanging real world money for it.
- Please note: Dollars were not enabled in previous Alpha builds, but as of October 19th they will register in your survival status page / market balance.
