Gameplay
The War Z features many mechanics beyond point and shoot zombie killing action. Players will need to explore the area of Colorado in order to attain food and water to keep their characters alive, protect themselves from other players who might be out to kill them, and to create clans and groups of players to make their efforts more effective.

[edit] Hunger and Thirst
If you go without food or a drinkable item for too long you will start losing health and eventually die. Your hunger and thirst will go away even faster while sprinting, and once they are gone your health slowly goes away. Meaning that if you have to, you can survive with medical supplies.
[edit] Killing Zombies
In order to kill a zombie, you must destroy their brain. Body shots will only temporarily disable them (10+hits to kill with body shots). Zombies come in two different categories, normal zombies and especially dangerous Stem-Cell Carrier zombies.
[edit] Day Cycle
The War Z does not follow the real life time cycle, It has a 4:1 time ratio, which means 1 hour in real life is equivalent to 4 hours in game (6 hours IRL = 24 hours in game).
[edit] Social interactions
Each survivor has a reputation which may affect how and whether other players will trade or interact with you. If you carry a bad reputation, you might not be able to enter certain safe areas in the world.
- Bounty Boards and notes will create an incentive not to carry negative reputation.
- If you have a negative reputation, players will not trust you. They will mostly try to kill you. At this point in The War Z, bandits and thugs can use all of the 3 safe zones.
